Introduction

Two Bikes Chattanooga sought a thoughtfully designed space that could support their operations and reflect their community-driven mission. Following feasibility studies and an analysis of their Knoxville location, we identified key areas for improvement in both operational flow and customer engagement. The project’s goals were to create functional zones for bike servicing, retail display, and staff operations while ensuring a seamless, inviting environment for customers.

My Role

• Conducting feasibility studies and site analysis to assess potential locations and inform the design approach.

• Developing a comprehensive design package that addressed operational requirements, from bike servicing to inventory storage and customer interaction.

• Designing the service area as the focal point of the space, with custom benches capable of accommodating two employees working on two bikes simultaneously.

• Incorporating multifunctional elements like a front bench that serves as a point-of-sale hub, product display, and a community counter.

• Integrating fully extendable shelves to improve inventory visibility and ensure tools and spare parts had dedicated, organized spaces.

  
  

Results

The completed space transformed Two Bikes’ Chattanooga location into a functional and visually appealing retail and service hub. Every detail—from the efficient workstations to the intuitive customer flow—contributes to a practical yet inviting environment. This collaborative project not only enhances the southside neighborhood but also supports Two Bikes’ mission to serve their community with efficiency and style.
