Museum Shelving
Retail Display
2025
The Christian and Gospel Music and Hall of Fame, in Nashville, approached us to design display elements for vinyl, clothing, and accessories. The challenge was to create fixtures that could withstand daily use while shaping a clean, adaptable environment. Our approach emphasized a modular framework—durable yet minimal—that allowed the merchandise to take center stage.
Early design conversations revolved around proportion and visibility. Vinyl racks needed to hold significant weight without dominating the space, while wall-mounted fixtures had to provide function while receding visually. Digital models helped refine scale and ergonomics, ensuring each element contributed to both circulation and clarity of display.
The display pieces were realized in steel, chosen for its structural clarity and visual strength. Installation involved aligning fixtures to the architecture to maintain flow through the shop, ensuring displays enhanced rather than interrupted movement. Subtle adjustments on site allowed the interior to feel cohesive, with fixtures integrated as part of the spatial framework.
The result is a retail space with a quiet backbone—fixtures that support the products while maintaining openness and adaptability. This project reinforced how retail interiors rely on calibrating durability and restraint, creating an environment where the architecture sets the stage and the merchandise defines the energy.
